Jesus came to heal us from all our illnesses!

Christmas scene, St James the Less

An unusual knitted version of the familiar Nativity story, in the church of St James the Less in London UK….this Christmas may we see the familiar story with new eyes!

Jesus was born as a helpless baby, and died as a helpless man by execution on a Roman cross, one of the most cruel ways to die in human history.  In between, he lived a life that even his enemies had to admit was free of sins such as greed, hatred, lust and disobedience to his Father God.  At baptism, he identified with human beings who needed to make a new start in life, and it was after his baptism that he received the power of the Holy Spirit to do miracles and drive out spirits that tormented people and often went hand in hand with chronic sickness of mind and/0r body.

At Pentecost, after Jesus rose from the dead and surprised many people, God sent the promised Holy Spirit to all who would put their faith in Jesus, not only in the time of the Book of Acts, but “to all who are afar off” which includes believers from any time from then until Jesus returns as King of Kings.  So it is not surprising that we can boldly pray and expect changes for the better!

Here is a short prayer by Australian evangelist John Mellor, who has visited Bath UK several times, where he prays for healing of all kinds of chronic sickness, may you be blessed as you watch:

  1. I love this line, “So it is not surprising that we can boldly pray and expect changes for the better!”

That is right, God loves to answer our prayers!
