I spent this evening doodling on two of my favourite computer programmes – Apophysis fractals – some complex maths that produces amazing pictures – and my old Jasc Paint Shop Pro to add the text. I could have spent hours, well into the night!
The thought came to me that each one of us is God’s masterpiece, each one completely original and different – when He made you, He threw away the mould! Even identical twins have some differences in character and taste, and I think difference in their fingerprints. Scripture says that we are God’s workmanship (Ephesians 2:10) and that all the works He has for us to do were planned in advance.
Earlier in Paul’s same letter, he is led by the Holy Spirit to exclaim:
3-6 How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.
So how can any of us say that we are worthless, or forgotten by God? However low we may be feeling, or whatever others may have said about us in the recent or distant past, may the Lord write His truth deep on each of our hearts today!
